Not everything I accomplished, but some typical and atypical to-dos.

  • Monday: I reminded staff to get their quotes to their clients, made sure our profit was where it should be halfway through the year, and added some photos to our website.

  • Tuesday, I interviewed four sales candidates by Zoom. One didn’t show up (not uncommon), nobody sent a thank you note, and only one had researched the company beforehand.

  • Wednesday: I dealt with a car insurance adjuster whose client accused our company of hitting her car. Our employee presented his boarding pass, indicating he wasn’t even in the state at the time the so-called accident occurred. Our car wasn’t damaged at all. An IRL phishing scam!
It turns out that the staff member who was driving our car produced this receipt to show he was out of town at the time of the so-called accident. Sweet!
  • Thursday: Ordered an EZ Pass toll transponder for a car in our fleet. I should’ve delegated this.

  • Friday: Sat on hold with my bank’s help desk because the connection that feeds my transactions into Quickbooks online had been failing for 4 days. The bank told me that the connection could not be restored, but this was not true, as the representative was talking about a different version of Quickbooks that had been sunsetted. They’re still working on it.

What stuff did you do last week?
